But you're going to want to be very careful as if you damage the turtle IC chip in the home button, you can't repair it and that's what I mean when you will lose touchID. That button is paired or programmed specifically to that device's board. Even if you had a genuine button from another device, it will tell you touchID cannot be verified.
Slide the pick along the front panel, towards the home button, to continue separating the home button ribbon cable from the front panel. Again, be sure to only slide the pick toward the center of the iPad when it is fully inserted; otherwise you may damage the antenna beneath the glass. Continue to slide the pick down the right edge of the iPad, releasing the adhesive.

It is still connected to the iPad by several cables at the home button end. It is still adhered in place and connected to the iPad by several cables at the home button end. Once all of the adhesive has been separated, open the front glass like a page in a book and rest it on your workspace. Lift slowly and gently to further detach the adhesive along the lower edge. Insert the pick slightly deeper and work it back toward the home button. Stop about an inch from the right-hand side to avoid cutting the digitizer cable.
The ipad mini i was just working on would keep activating the home button and kept going to siri.. I first tried to cover the contacts on the home button flex like others in this post suggested with no luck. I also used some doubled sided 3m tape to create cushions on both sides of the home button to raise the button up from the frame a little to give it a little relief. Not sure if it was just the extra cushioning i added or if it was a combination of cushion and covering those exposed contacts.

Wait at least ten minutes before reheating the iOpener. Take the first pick you inserted and slide it up toward the top corner of the iPad. Continue moving the opening pick down the side of the display to release the adhesive. Always wait at least ten minutes before reheating the iOpener. Pull the suction cup's plastic nub to release the vacuum seal and remove the suction cup from the display assembly.
This will keep glass shards contained and provide structural integrity when prying and lifting the display. I've noticed lately from two different suppliers that the same black iPad mini digitizer assemblies are taped a little bit wrong---if you don't adjust the tape it will have these issues. Turns out, there is a small strip of black tape in between the glass and frame that keep the digitizer from "touching" itself and activating home button + digitizer randomly.
iOpener Heating
The Wi-Fi antenna is very close to the corner and is easily severed if the adhesive is released improperly. Do not slide the pick further than the bottom right corner. You may damage the Wi-Fi antenna by doing so.
Do not attempt to remove the home button yet. Is is still held in place by a strongly adhered bracket and delicate gasket. Do not pry against the large IC next to the connector, or you may break it. Gently pry from the side of the connector as shown. Remove the seven 1.8 mm Phillips #00 screws from the LCD shield plate. Flip the iPad LCD like a page in a book, lifting near the camera and turning it over the home button end of the rear case.
Leave this pick in place to keep the adhesive from re-sealing itself, and grab a new pick for the next step. Leave the opening pick in the iPad slightly past the front-facing camera. Reheat the iOpener and place it on the top edge of the iPad, over the front-facing camera. Follow the steps in this guide to replace the home button in an iPad Mini 3. Note that since home button fingerprint scanners are paired to their respective logic boards, swapping in a new home button will result in losing Touch ID functionality.
The adhesive along this section is very thick, and a fair amount of force may be required. Work carefully and slowly, making sure to not slip and damage yourself or your iPad. Continue releasing the adhesive all the way along the bottom edge of the iPad. If the adhesive has cooled too much along the bottom edge, reheat the iOpener to warm the adhesive where you are working.
After changing 3 digitizers and getting the same problem everytime im just happen to close out that ticket and move on.. This part can be used to fix a broken iPad Mini 3 front panel glass! This front glass & digitizer touch screen assembly for iPad Mini 3 is a do-it-yourself ready component that is easier to install because of all the pre-assembled parts. This iPad Mini 3 touch screen includes the IC chip to eliminate the need to transfer the old IC from your broken iPad Mini 3 screen to the new one.
The solution is to put tape from one end of the LCD to the other at the bottom. My website is my user name nd email is lited there. The problem was there was a little support item sitting underneath which was out of place everytime we put the digitizer back on. My only advice is to keep trying to get the alignment right.
